Although Shakira and Rihanna are great artists, they are very different for some reasons. Shakira was born in Barranquilla, Colombia on Feb. 2nd, 1977; as a result, she is 31 years old. She is a composer, a singer, and a producer; at the age of 14 she recorded her first album with Sony music. She is one of the most successful international singers in the history of latin music. She has made 7 albums throughout her career, also she created a foundation "Pies descalsos" where she helps all the kids of Barranquilla, Colombia. In 1997 she won the Billboard Award for the best album, video and artist revelation. In 1998 she won another for the best album, and she has won twice a Grammy Award and eight times the Latin Grammy, also she has a lot of Platinum discs. She has sold over 50 million records. Unlike Shakira, Rihanna was born in Saint Michael, Barbados on Feb. 20th, 1988, so she is 20 years old. She is a singer and a model; at the age of 15 she recorded her first album with Def Jam Records. She has made 7 albums; in contrast to Shakira, Rihanna has not created a foundation. She has won only two Awards for the best video of the year and single (2007) and 3 Platinum discs. She has sold over 10 million records. All these reasons make Shakira distinct to Rihanna; for me Shakira is the best singer of the world.
